Retailing is the largest private sector industry in the world economy with global size exceeding $ 6.6 triillion. Most of the retail in India is in unorganized sector. The organized retail market is expected to grow by 20% to 25% on YOY basis, generating about 10% of GDP. It will be the largest source of employment after agriculture and industries. The liberalization policy of the government has opened retail market for MNCs such as Wal-mart, Tesco, etc. which will make this sector more attractive and competitive. Keeping this in mind Poona Institute of Management Sciences & Entrepreneurship (PIMSE) is organizing a National Seminar on “RETAIL STRATEGIES FOR EMERGING MARKETS.”

Invitation for Papers:
Original Papers or case studies on the above mentioned theme are invited from academic scholars, practicing professionals and industry officials. The word limit of paper is up to 4000 words. The paper must be typed in 12 pt fonts in Times New Roman with 1.5 lines space. Synopsis should have a limit of two paragraphs. Besides, there must be list of key words and a few lines about the author with E- mail address and contact number. IT Expo – organized by The Computer & Media Dealers Association (CMDA) Pune

The Computer & Media Dealers Association (CMDA) Pune is planning to organize a Chief Information Technology Officer (CIO) conference in the 11th IT Exhibition, which will be held from December 4 to 7, 2008. The CIO conference will be a one-day event that will be held along with the IT expo.
“We are planning to invite CIOs from major corporate houses. Industry leaders will deliver lectures on latest technologies and the changes in the IT field. The intention behind holding this conference is to attract corporate houses to this exhibition to show them the latest technologies and to update them about the new happenings in the IT hardware sector,” explained Shital Nahar, President, CMDA.
Along with the CIO conference, CMDA is also planning to hold eight technical seminars to update the students and the end-customers in the region.
Explaining in detail about the expo Yogesh Godbole, Convener of the Exhibition said, “There will be two hangers in the exhibition. One will be dedicated to System Integrators (SIs) who are the members of the association and second for principle companies.”
This time around CMDA is giving an opportunity to small SIs to take part in the IT expo with minimal rent of Rs 12,800 for four days. The association is expecting gross revenue of Rs 55 lakh from the expo this year.
Through the expo CMDA is also looking at providing a platform for vendors, manufacturers and importers to display their entire range of products. The customer will also get an opportunity to touch and feel the latest IT gadgets.
CMDA has also tied up with Sakaal Media Group, as its official media partner.
